A Mindfulness Eating Exercise: Simple Instructions
Most of us exercise our bodies, but very few of us do the same with our brain. Most aren’t aware that practicing mindfulness does just that…changes our brain by exercising it.

When you practice mindfulness for at least 8 weeks it’s been proven to increase the gray matter in the hippocampus (learning, memory, self-awareness, and compassion) and decreases it in the amygdala (stress and anxiety).

This weeks exercise is taste and in TRUE PATH the exercise reads…

Taste – Each day, pick something you are about to eat or drink and pay attention to the taste of it. Maybe something at breakfast, lunch, or a cup of coffee. Focusing in on the taste will bring a whole new awareness and enjoyment to the things we eat and drink!

Remember to set an alarm or reminder each day to make sure you do your mindfulness practice, otherwise it most likely will not happen. Our mind is not built to just remember something every day, until we make it happen. It takes on average 66 days to create a habit. So, set an alarm or reminder and make mindfulness a habit. It will change your life!
